On this particular day, the idols of Lord Ganesha are immersed in the water bodies such as seas, ponds, rivers, etc. It is believed that along with the immersion of the idols, the problems and the issues of the houses also get submerged into the water bodies.
Vishwakarma Puja

Vishwakarma puja is the celebration of Lord Vishwakarma who is considered one of the greatest engineers and an architect. He is also believed to be the creator of Dwarka city where Krishna lived. He was also a great carpenter and his name has been mentioned in ancient texts such as Rig Veda.
According to the Gregorian calendar, Vishwakarma puja falls between the 16th to 18th of September and this festival is also celebrated in Nepal and other neighboring countries of India. This festival is primarily observed in factories and industrial areas to pay respect to the machines.
